OECD DAC Special Review on Poland published

The OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC) has published the Report from the Special Review on Poland. The launch of the report was during the Conference organised in Warsaw by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs on in 17th May 2010. The report was presented by E. Deutscher, head of OECD DAC.

Many recommendations are in line with the policy asks raised by Polish NGOs in consecutive Aid Watch reports on Polish Official Development Assistance (ODA).

Wojciech Tworkowski, the managing director of Grupa Zagranica, Polish NGDO platform, commented the findings of the report from the NGOs point of view, during one of the panel discussions at the conference.

The report findings were presented in more details by K. Jorgensen, DCD OECD, Head of Polish Special Review Team. The team consisted of representatives of Belgium, Canada, Turkey and the OECD DAC.

In her speech, Ms Jorgensen underlined that the team met with representatives of both the government and civil society. Two members of the research and advocacy team of the Institute of Global Responsibility participated in the meeting of Polish CSOs with the Special Review team in January 2010.
